چکیده

Outcomes following isolated hip arthroscopy for patients with dysplasia have been unfavorable, results included iatrogenic instability and conversion to total arthroplasty (THA) at a young age. However, borderline portended more favorable short medium term follow-up. The purpose of this study was assess long outcomes after femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) in (BD) (LCEA, 18°-25°) compared control cohort nondysplastic 25°-40°). Between March 2009 July 2012, BD group 33 (38 hips) identified. An age- sex-matched 83 (96 also Patient-reported outcome scores, including the modified Harris Hip Score (mHHS), Outcome Score–Activities Daily Living (HOS-ADL) Sport-Specific Subscale (HOS-SSS), International Tool (iHOT-33), were collected preoperatively subsequently an average 9.6 years post-operatively. mean LCEA Tönnis angle 22.4° +/- 2.02° 6.2° 3.23° 31.7° 3.52° 2.42° 3.02° group, respectively (P <0.001). At follow-up (range, 8.2-11.6 years) on there significant improvement patient-reported scores both groups (P<0.001). There no differences between pre post-operative groups. Arthroscopic management of femoroacetabular impingement: early outcomes measures.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the early outcomes of arthroscopic management of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). METHODS Ninety-six consecutive patients (100 hips) with radiographically documented FAI were treated with hip arthroscopy, labral debridement or repair/refixation, proximal femoral osteoplasty, or acetabular rim trimming (or some combination thereof). Outcomes...

Femoroacetabular impingement: an arthroscopic solution.

Young adults with hip pain secondary to femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) are rapidly being recognised as an important cohort of orthopaedic patients. Interest in FAI has intensified over the last decade since its recognition as a precursor to arthritis of the hip and the number of publications related to the topic has increased exponentially in the last decade. Although not all patients with ...

Arthroscopic treatment of femoroacetabular impingement.

The etiology of degenerative joint disease of the hip remains unsolved. A precursor for some patients, especially younger ones, may be hip impingement. Repetitive microtrauma at maximal flexion can cause chronic pain from the abutment at the femoral head-neck junction caused by an abnormal offset. Chronic impingement from an aspherical head can lead to degenerative labral tears and acetabular c...
